goal
Visually translate the emotional tone and narrative of the book into a functional design system — through layout, typography, hierarchy and illustration. Enhance the reader's connection with the stories and not only complement the writing but elevate it and create a memorable experience.

challenge
Working long-distance with the author meant relying on constant and clear communication, which required extra clarity in feedback, regular checkpoints and flexibility with timelines and expectations. As well as, capturing the tone of deeply personal and emotional writing through design and illustration, required a high level of empathy and creative interpretation.
